Visitors with 20 or more people can visit our museum for a guided or extended tour and receive discounted admission. Tickets must be booked in advance, with at least 30 days’ notice.

Exhibitions


National Great Blacks in Wax Museum houses over 200 life-size wax figure in dramatic, three-dimensional scenes that capture significant moments in history. Visitors go on a 5,000 year journey that begins in Ancient Africa and ends in today’s modern world. You will emerge from your journey with a greater understanding about a people’s story of struggle, determination, and triumph.

Common Questions


  • There is limited free parking. Available spaces fill quickly, especially during the summer and over holidays. There are designated accessible spaces in front of the museum; however, these are standard curb spaces on the left side of one-way streets.

  • Food and drinks are not allowed inside the museum; however, water is permissible.

  • No, the wax figures are very fragile and touching may damage the figures.

  • Still photography is permissible; however, video is not permitted.

  • We have a wheelchair friendly entrance in front of the museum.

  • The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum has wheelchairs that can be borrowed, free of charge, for use within the museum. The wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To borrow a wheelchair, go to the museum's information center or desk and request a loaner. You will be asked to leave identification until you return the wheelchair.

  • We do allow service animals and power scooters inside the museum.

  • If you would like a sign language, oral or ASL request accommodation services you should call at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled tour. Call the museum at 410-563-3404 to tell staff what services you will need. We do not have interpreters on our staff. We can provide ASL Interpreters, audio descriptive tours, closed captioned videos, and audio tours upon request.
